10/21-10/25 Rough-in Electric and start of brick exterior

It's really moving now!

Electric-
start of electric-10/21

Brick
We were excited about the brick for several reasons:
one, the obvious one, it would really show us what the exterior was going to look like,
two, it allowed us to continue further with the interior, and
three, we could stop looking at the seventeen huge pallets of brick that had been sitting there for over a year.

10/16- Rough in plumbing and Geothermal

With the roof and windows being installed it became safe to begin the rough in plumbing and electric as well as our hvac.

Geothermal-

Our geothermal coils were started last week... started... then the drilling rig broke down and sat on the site for a week before being fixed and finishing up. The pipes are vertical and go 150 feet down into the ground. They are to the right of the "driveway", which wasn't my ideal place, but hopefully the best place for the system.

10/13- Windows!

We have been so excited about the windows being put in the house. We put a lot of effort into choosing our window styles since we wanted to add both a sense of openness to the house and encompass the view. Here's what they look like so far.

10/07- 10/11 - roof

After some debate we finally decided on a roof color (Merlot) and we think it looks great. We're hoping the red in the shingle will make the brick really pop.

Interior Framing- 10/02

The interior framing of the house seemed to go up so quickly-one day it wasn't and the next it was- I'm not sure if this is because the house has such an open floor plan or if that is just normal procedure. I feel as if I keep writing about such and such step making the house seem that much more real, but they are all true. The interior framing really gave us the sense of what space we were dealing with, especially with bedroom and kitchen sizes.

It was great to see stairs verses the great gaping hole that we had been looking at for the past three months.
